The incidents of theft are being taken seriously, with Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, overseeing the operation. He is assisted by Additional Superintendent of Police City, Mr. Lakhan Patle, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime, Mr. Sandeep Mittal, City Superintendent of Police Kotwali, Mr. Yogesh Sahu, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime, Mr. Sanjay Singh, to combat anti-crime activities.
Raipur. (10:04): The accused, originally from Banda, Uttar Pradesh, targeted vehicles belonging to school and college students. During the arrest, 07 master keys used in the incidents were seized, along with 09 mobile phones from various companies, totaling approximately Rs 75,000 in value. A case, registered under Crime number 137/24, sections 461 and 380 of the IPC, has been filed against the accused at Police Station City Kotwali Raipur.
Taking the theft incidents seriously, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh oversaw the operation, supported by Additional Superintendent of Police City Mr. Lakhan Patle, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Mr. Sandeep Mittal, City Superintendent of Police Kotwali Mr. Yogesh Sahu, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Mr. Sanjay Singh. The Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit, along with the police station in-charge Kotwali, were directed to promptly trace and arrest the unidentified culprit.
The City Kotwali police initiated a search for the unknown suspect in connection with the incidents. CCTV footage from the area was analyzed, leading to the identification of an individual attempting to open a trunk at the Municipal Corporation parking lot. Upon being spotted, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by the police team. Two stolen phones were found in his possession, identified through strict inquiry and IMEI checks, linked to the ongoing case at Police Station Kotwali.
Upon further interrogation, the suspect confessed to keeping additional stolen phones at home. Subsequently, seven more mobile phones from various companies were seized from his residence, all connected to the ongoing case. The accused was duly arrested and presented before the Honorable Court.
