Raipur. (21:03): “Two local individuals, one from another state, and a history sheeter were arrested for their involvement in multiple crimes across five police stations in the city. The suspects primarily targeted elderly women. Additionally, an accomplice providing support was apprehended. The suspects used disguises and fake number plates to conceal their identities during their criminal activities. Through extensive CCTV footage analysis and the efforts of the Anti Crime and Cyber Unit, the suspects were identified and arrested. Seized items include five gold chains, two gold rings, and three stolen motorcycles, totaling approximately Rs 10,16,900. Senior police officials, including Senior Superintendent Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh and several others, took prompt action to address the chain-snatching incidents in Raipur. A specialized team comprising members from the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and the Civil Lines Police Station was formed under their guidance. This team meticulously investigated the incidents, examining CCTV footage and scrutinizing routes used by the culprits to escape. Their efforts led to the identification and arrest of the main suspect, Sarvesh Dubey, along with his accomplices, Kailash Yadav and Krishna Kumar Meshram.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to residing in Gobaranvapara and orchestrating chain-snatching incidents. They disclosed their modus operandi, which involved stealing motorcycles, using fake number plates, and covering their faces to avoid detection. Sarvesh Dubey had a criminal record and had been previously arrested for various offenses. The seized items, including gold chains, rings, and stolen motorcycles, amounted to approximately Rs 10,16,900. The arrested suspects were presented before Inspector Rohit Malekar and other officials for further legal proceedings.
