Bhilai. (18:05): In Newai, Bhilai, a wife gave her husband a betel nut worth Rs 50,000 to distract him. Fortunately, when the assailant stabbed him in the neck, a police patrolling team arrived, saving his life. Today, the Newai police arrested three suspects, including the wife, Needa, who conspired to murder her husband Taukir.
Additional SP Sukhnandan Rathore revealed that a long-standing dispute between Needa and Tauqeer led to suspicion between them. To eliminate her husband, Neida conspired with her half-brother, Azad, paying Rs 50,000 for the deed.
On the night of May 16th, Needa lured her husband to Maroda Dame under the pretext of a stranded scooter. The attackers arrived, ostensibly to return the lost keys, but instead assaulted Taukir’s neck before fleeing in a car with two others.
As blood gushed from Taukir’s neck, a police patrol intervened, with Needa feigning ignorance of the attack. The police rushed the injured to the hospital. Shockingly, Taukir revealed his wife’s involvement in the assault after treatment, prompting immediate action by the Newai police, resulting in the arrests.
