Sarangarh/Bilaigarh. (16:05): The deepening work of the Limha pond in Gram Panchayat Reda, under the Sarangarh development block, has been approved for Rs 9.51 lakh, and the work began on May 6, 2024. Initially, muster roll was issued to 358 laborers, out of which 245 were working.
However, technical issues were identified with the dock size by Technical Assistant Chandramani Porte. Approximately 50 laborers did not meet the required size, leading to a reduction in their wages. After some discussion and explanation, about 40 to 45 laborers rectified the issue and were paid on May 15, 2024. Following this, all workers agreed to continue working to avoid any further deductions. On May 16, 2024, 221 laborers were engaged in the pond deepening work, and there are currently no disputes.
