The cyber cell and Kotwali police raided Banglapara due to intel on illegal liquor

The authorities seized 124 units of country and English liquor along with one beer from the suspects.

Raigarh. (25:03): There is tight police arrangement in the entire district regarding Holi. On the instructions of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel, to ensure peaceful celebration of Holi, police patrolling is being done actively in all the police station areas and keeping an eye on those who create ruckus and sell illegal drugs.

In the same sequence, this morning Cyber Cell supervisory officer DSP Abhinav Upadhyay received information that Lalit Dewangan, resident of Kotra Road Banglapara, had hidden a huge quantity of liquor at his house for selling liquor illegally. On receiving the information, a joint team of Kotwali Police and Cyber Cell immediately conducted a liquor raid at the suspect’s house. Suspect Lalit Dewangan, father Gopal Dewangan, age 27 years, resident of Kotra Road Railway, Bangla Para’s house, 54 pav country plain liquor, 44 pav country masala, 26 pav English, one piece beer and 2 350 ml English liquor Jumla 23 liters 430 ml valuable in three cartoons. Illicit liquor worth Rs 12,970 has been seized. Action has been taken against the accused Lalit Dewangan in the police station under Section 34(2), 59(A) of the Excise Act. TI Sukhnandan Patel, SI Amarnath Shukla, Head Constable Narendra Yadav, Constable Dhananjay Kashyap (Cyber Cell) and Govind Patel (Postation Kotwali) were involved in the liquor raid proceedings.
