Raigarh. (13:03): On the directive of Raigarh Collector Karthikeya Goyal, the Chhattisgarh Environmental Protection Board’s Regional Office in Raigarh has levied a Rs 12 lakh environmental compensation on M/s TRN Energy Pvt. Ltd. The penalty was imposed for violating fly ash regulations, with legal action underway against the company.
The Regional Office had initially granted permission to M/s TRN Energy Pvt. Ltd. for land filling in a specific area. However, upon discovering unauthorized dumping of fly ash in government land in addition to the permitted area, the Collector was notified. Subsequently, upon conducting a site inspection, the Environmental Protection Board found evidence of fly ash dumping beyond the permitted boundaries. The company was issued a notice for clarification and corrective action, with further actions taken in accordance with pollution regulations.
