Raipur. (15:03): Health department officers and employees went on strike from August 21, 2023, to September 12, 2023. Following the instructions of Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, their withheld salaries for this period have been released. This decision has benefited around 30 thousand health workers in the state, for which the Chhattisgarh Health Federation has expressed gratitude to Health Minister Shri Jaiswal.
During the recent agitation, members of the Chhattisgarh Health Federation faced dismissal and had their salaries withheld due to their absence from work. Federation officials raised this issue with Health Minister Shri Jaiswal, who subsequently instructed health department officials to address the matter. As a result, 5,000 dismissed employees have been reinstated, and the salaries of 25,000 employees withheld during the agitation have been approved. The Chhattisgarh Health Federation expressed their gratitude to Health Minister Shri Jaiswal during a courtesy visit to his office. However, the salaries of 2,000 employees from the Medical Education Department, affected by the agitation, remain unpaid. The Federation officials have urged Health Minister Shri Jaiswal to release their salaries as well.
