Tamnar Police rescued 45 cattle from smugglers and took legal action against four individuals for animal cruelty

Raigarh. (15:04): Last night, on April 14, 2024, Police Station In-charge Inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar of Tamnar received information about cattle smugglers assaulting and stealing farmers’ cattle near Rodopali en route to Mudagaon.

Acting swiftly, Inspector Rahatgaonkar and his team rushed to Rodopali where local resident Surendra Dehri informed them about the incident. The police promptly arrested four suspects involved in the act of animal smuggling: Manoj Yadav, Buddhu Ram Aqua, Ramesh Kumar Manjhi, and Gurudev Dhruv. They were charged under sections 4, 6, 10, and 11 of the Chhattisgarh Farmers and Animals Preservation Act 2004 and remanded into judicial custody. Additionally, 45 cattle were rescued and provided with necessary care. Assistant Sub-Inspector Khemraj Patel, Head Constable Dev Prasad Rathia, Constable Bhishmadev Sagar, Purushottam Sidar, and Anup Minj assisted in the proceedings under Inspector Rahatgaonkar’s supervision.
