Raipur. (26:04): The government has formally requested the Union Home Secretary to assign the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to probe the Sadhram murder case in Kabirdham district. It is noteworthy that the family members, aggrieved by Sadhram Yadav’s murder, met with CM Vishnudev Sai. During the meeting, CM Sai promised to initiate an NIA investigation, as per the family’s request. CM Sai announced the NIA investigation on 28th February.

Sadhram Yadav’s body was discovered in Lalpur Kala, Kabirdham district on the morning of January 21. Sadhram was brutally murdered by having his throat slit. Following investigations, the police apprehended Ayaz Khan, Idris Khan, Sofian Qureshi, Abdul Mehtab Khan, Sheikh Rafiq, and a minor in connection with the case. Suspicious contacts related to Kashmir were found in the mobile phones of the accused during interrogation. Police investigations revealed that the accused had also been active in Kashmir.
In light of alleged connections with terrorist and extremist Muslim organizations, the Kabirdham police, after scrutinizing the accused’s mobile and other records, added Section 16 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) to the case on February 17. This move indicated the necessity for an NIA investigation.
