Raipur – One suspect apprehended with 37.450 kg of marijuana

“The suspect was apprehended with the truck bearing registration number CG 18 H 1552 in Transport Nagar Rawanbhatha under the jurisdiction of Khamtarai police station.”

The total value of the seized marijuana is approximately Rs 3,70,000, while the truck bearing registration number CG 18 H 1552, valued at Rs 15,00,000, was also seized. The combined total value amounts to Rs 18,70,000.

(20:03): Under the anti-drug campaign led by Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, all police gazetted officers and station in-charges in Raipur have been instructed to detect and take action against black drug dealers. On March 19, 2024, the Khamtarai police station received information about a truck, bearing registration number CG 18 H 1552, suspected of carrying a large quantity of ganja for sale. Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Lakhan Patle, City Superintendent of Police Mr. Mani Shankar Chandra, and Khamtarai Police Station Incharge Inspector S.N. Singh, upon verification of the information, directed the team to apprehend the accused.

Following the senior officers’ instructions, the Khamtarai police team located the truck and surrounded it. Upon searching the truck, they found Jaspal Singh inside. Upon further inspection, the team discovered 37.450 kg of ganja concealed in eight packets inside the truck. Jaspal Singh was arrested, and the ganja, along with the truck valued at Rs 15,00,000, was seized. A case was registered against the accused under the Narcotics Act, with crime number 225/24, Section 20 (B) NDPS Act.

The arrested individual is identified as Jaspal Singh, aged 67 years, residing at Danteshwari Ward, Street No. 03, Jagdalpur Police Station City, Kotwali District, Bastar, Chhattisgarh.
