Raipur: Government departments’ bills will receive online approval at all treasuries

Date:

“The Withdrawal Disbursement Officer will digitally sign the bills.”

“Online bill approval will enhance efficiency and transparency. Finance Secretary Mr. Mukesh Kumar reviewed the preparations for the implementation, which will commence on July 1st.”

Raipur. (23:03): In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, the Finance Department is initiating online approval for all types of bills across treasuries, including salary bills for officers and employees. Withdrawal Disbursement Officers will be equipped with digital signatures to facilitate online bill submissions to the treasury.

This digital transition aims to streamline bill approval processes, ensuring speed and transparency. Currently, the e-Kosh software manages salary bill approvals, but with this transition, the entire bill withdrawal process will go paperless, reducing environmental impact. Departments will no longer need to submit hard copies of bills or BTRs to treasuries. Additionally, objection resolution and bill approval will also be conducted online, eliminating the need for department personnel to visit the treasury frequently. The Directorate of Treasury Accounts is making necessary preparations for online approval of all bills besides salaries, with dedicated servers and training provided to Finance Department staff. Finance Secretary Mr. Mukesh Kumar has directed the Treasury and Accounts Directorate to ensure paperless operations in treasuries by July 1, 2024. A comprehensive presentation on the Public Finance Management System and Single Nodal Agency was conducted during the review, attended by key officials from various departments.
