Bilaspur. (13:05): Railway administration has provided the facility to the passengers to get rid of the queues at the ticket counters, to provide quick tickets and to promote the cashless system, to make their own reserved travel tickets from the personal ID sitting at home through IRCTC.
In order to convert this facility into profit, there are reports of some people, especially during festival season and summer vacation, making railway travel tickets using their personal ID and selling them at higher prices or doing illegal ticketing. In order to monitor such incidents and crack down on ticket brokers doing illegal business, all the RPF post in-charges of Bilaspur division, under the guidance of the Inspector General-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner and under the direction of the Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, are regularly conducting campaigns against illegal ticket brokers. Continuous action is being taken against.
In this sequence, on 11.05.2024, various RPF posts of Bilaspur division took action under Section 143 of the Railway Act against 09 people illegally trading railway travel tickets.
It is noteworthy that in the year 2023, action was taken by RPF Bilaspur Division against a total of 111 people who were illegally trading rail travel tickets. Also, till now in the year 2024, in total 46 cases, action has been taken by seizing 773 travel tickets (worth Rs. 884809.00) and arresting a total of 46 accused. This campaign will continue continuously.
