Raigarh. (16:03): “After a five-year anticipation, the Chief Minister Sports Decoration Ceremony finally acknowledges players and coaches who have excelled nationally across various sports, bringing pride to the state. Outgoing Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai personally honored the recipients, elevating their morale.”
The sports investiture ceremony, which ideally should have been an annual affair, was long overdue. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the previous Congress government failed to prioritize the morale of youth and athletes. However, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai, the event finally took place on March 14, 2024, at Raipur’s hockey stadium, rejuvenating the enthusiasm of the youth.
During the ceremony, Lal Priyanshu Choudhary from Raigarh was honored for his outstanding performance in Roll Ball Sports competitions from 2017 to 2023. Notably, he contributed significantly to Chhattisgarh’s silver medal win in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in December 2019. Chief Minister Shri Sai presented him with the prestigious Khel Gaurav Alankaran Samman in recognition of his achievements.
Priyanshu’s journey in the sport was supported by guide Mohammad Abid Sabri and Raigarh Roll Ball Association President Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, along with other members and teammates, who congratulated him on his success. Priyanshu Chaudhary, son of Vimal Chaudhary, continues to shine as a promising athlete representing Chhattisgarh.
