(13:03): As part of preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, police officers received training at the Superintendent of Police office auditorium, as per the instructions of Collector and District Election Officer Shri Prabhat Malik. District Master Trainer Shri Toshan Giri Goswami provided detailed guidance on the duties of Sector Police Officers, emphasizing the importance of ensuring compliance with the model code of conduct during sector visits. Officers were also instructed to identify vulnerable groups and encourage them to vote freely and without inducement.
He further explained that police officers involved in election duties within their own Lok Sabha constituency can cast their votes using the Election Duty Certificate (EDC) by applying through Form 12A. Additionally, voters from other Lok Sabha constituencies can avail the postal ballot facility by applying through Form 12. DSP and Nodal Officer Sarika Vaidya, along with other police department officials, attended the training session.
