Mahtari Vandan Yojana programs were held in Sarangarh, Bilaigarh, Barmkela, and Bhatgaon.
Sarangarh/Bilaigarh. (10:03): Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed the initial installment of Rs 1,000 to the bank accounts of 190,734 women in the Sarangarh Bilaigarh district through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. They will now receive Rs 1,000 monthly in their accounts for the entire year.
In his virtual address, Shri Modi expressed gratitude for inaugurating the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, emphasizing its significance in empowering women. He greeted the conference with “Jai Johar” and paid homage to Maa Danteshwari, Maa Bamleshwari, Maa Mahamaya, and the mothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh. Modi highlighted the importance of empowering women, stating that it strengthens the entire family. He assured that the funds would be regularly deposited into the women’s accounts without any hassle. Following the event, Collector Shri Sahu, along with the Sarangarh Municipality, distributed new ration cards to urban beneficiaries.
Likewise, Collector Shri Sahu presented awards to women who had recently given birth on behalf of the Women and Child Development Department. He also observed a presentation of nutritious dishes prepared by the department. Additionally, during the event, calendars, magazines including Janman, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, and Modi’s Guarantee, as well as pocket books titled “Sunrise of Good Governance” highlighting Vishnu Dev’s swift decision-making, were distributed by the Public Relations Department to all attendees. There was evident enthusiasm among citizens to receive these magazines and calendars.
The program in Sarangarh saw the presence of several dignitaries, including former MLA Kerabai Manhar, Collector Shri Dharmesh Kumar Sahu, Shivkumari Chauhan, Ajay Gopal, Dinanath Khunte, Devkumari Lahare, Anupama Kesharwani, Manoj Jaiswal, Devendra Ratre, Additional Collector Divya Aggarwal, Project Director Harishankar Chauhan, as well as a large gathering of women and men, including Child Development Officer Brijendra Singh Thakur. Notably, a total of 191,150 women had submitted applications under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the district.
