Bemetara. (04:05): Last Monday, 9 people died in a tragic road accident in Bemetara, Chhattisgarh. The Central Government has announced compensation for the victims.
A goods vehicle, carrying members of the same family returning from a late-night birthday celebration, collided with a parked vehicle on the roadside. Besides the 9 fatalities, 22 people were injured in the accident. On Saturday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced compensation for the victims.
According to the PMO’s letter received by Collector Bemetara, families of the deceased will receive Rs 2 lakh each, and the injured will receive Rs 50,000 each. This compensation will be provided from the Prime Minister’s National Assistance Fund, as stated in the letter written by the PMO to the Bemetra Collector regarding compensation. It is notable that on April 28, the accident occurred in K Kathiya village of Bemetara district, resulting in 9 deaths and 22 injuries.
