As part of this endeavor, the first phase of Bastar Lok Sabha voting in Chhattisgarh is scheduled for April 19. The party has entrusted the responsibility of Bastar Lok Sabha to Gond Raja Devendra Pratap Singh from the Raigarh royal family.
Campaigning in the remote regions of Bastar, the BJP has recently appointed Devendra Pratap to the Rajya Sabha. The Raigarh Gond dynasty has wielded significant influence in Chhattisgarh since the princely era. With a substantial presence of the Gond tribe and tribal communities in Bastar, Devendra is actively campaigning in the interior areas to garner their support.
