During the search of the 108 ambulance vehicle bearing fake number plate CG04 HD 7836, 752 packets of illegal marijuana were discovered hidden in 24 plastic sacks behind the vehicle. The seized marijuana, weighing 752 kg (equivalent to 7 quintals and 52 kg), has an estimated market value of Rs 2 crore 25 lakh 60 thousand. Additionally, the ambulance itself, with registration number CG04 HD 7836, is valued at around Rs 15 lakh, and Rs 50,000 in cash was seized from the accused.
In total, contraband worth Rs 2,41,10,000, along with 752 kg of marijuana, has been confiscated in the operation. The investigation has led to the seizure of two additional number plates found in the ambulance’s dashboard, bearing registration number MH43 BX 5728. A case has been registered under Section 20B of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bhatapara Rural against both accused, with crime number 211/2024, and further action is underway.
