In Sukma, Congress candidate Kawasi Lakhma expressed confidence in a discussion with Lalluram.com after voting, claiming victory by a significant margin. He attributed his success to the influence of Dadi, not Maundy magic, in Bastar. Lakhma prioritized resolving the Polavaram Dam issue and bringing a railway line to Sukma upon victory. Cabinet Minister Kedar Kashyap cast his vote at the Farsaguda polling booth in the Narayanpur assembly constituency. He expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity nationwide, noting the government’s efforts to accelerate development both at the national and state levels.

Kashyap remarked that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has garnered widespread support in the entire Bastar Lok Sabha region, anticipating victories for their candidates across the state. He emphasized the collaborative efforts of the central and state governments to propel development forward at an accelerated pace, akin to a “double engine.”

Notably, Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, comprising 8 assembly constituencies and 6 districts, including Jagdalpur, Bastar, Chitrakot, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Sukma, Bijapur, and Dantewada. Polling is scheduled from 7 am to 5 pm across 175 polling stations in the Jagdalpur Assembly, as well as in the Bastar Assembly.
