Illegal MP brand liquor seized in raid on Dhabas and shops along Gharghoda Chaal Road

Gharghoda. (14:03): Five accused were apprehended in four distinct operations, resulting in the confiscation of a Nexa car, a motorcycle, 9 boxes of MP-branded English liquor, 36 beers, and 13 bottles of other English liquor.14.2 Illegal MP brand liquor seized in raid on Dhabas and shops along Gharghoda Chaal Road

To combat crimes and road accidents, Raigarh Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel has instructed all police station and outpost in-charges to conduct a special campaign targeting the illegal sale of liquor in hotels and dhabas along the highway. Acting on this directive, a joint team led by trainee IPS and Kharsia station in-charge, Akash Shrishrimal, conducted raids on suspicious establishments along the Gharghoda to Chaal main road. Several illegal liquor seizures were made, including:

  1. From accused Ranjit Gupta:
    • 200 pieces of Goa Whiskey liquor
    • Car CG 13 AV 7871
    • One Oppo mobile
  2. From accused Sufal Das Mahant:
    • 36 beers
    • 14 pav of Goa English Liquor
  3. From accused Naveen Patel:
    • 100 pieces of Goa English liquor
    • One mobile phone
  4. From accused Lakhan Lal Soni:
    • 48 pieces of McDowells No 1 English Liquor
    • Motorcycle CG 13AQ 4565

The police station in-charges of Chaal and Gharghoda, along with their staff, played a significant role in this campaign under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel and the leadership of Trainee IPS Akash Shrishrimal. The crackdown on illegal liquor will continue in the future.

The arrested individuals are:

  1. Ranjit Kumar Gupta
  2. Suphal Das Mahant
  3. Ghasiram Patel
  4. Naveen Kumar Patel
  5. Lakhan Lal Soni

The seized illegal liquor and other property include:

  • 405 pav MP Label Goa liquor (value: ₹44,550)
  • 48 pav McDowall No. 1 liquor (value: ₹10,560)
  • 36 cans/beers (value: ₹6,480)
  • 9 pav of other English liquor (value: ₹1,860)

Additionally, one Nexa car (valued at ₹12 lakh), one motorcycle HF Deluxe (valued at ₹40,000), and three mobile phones were seized. The estimated total value of the seized items is approximately ₹13,33,450.
