Uttarkashi. (25:03): The excitement of Holi is visible everywhere in the country. Everyone looks drenched in the colors of Holi. At the same time, there is a temple in Uttarakhand where Holi is played with ashes, and for this people come here from far and wide.
Holi is played with the ashes of Havan Kund or Dhuni in Kashi Vishwanath Temple located in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. People participate in it with great enthusiasm to play it.
Holi was played with ashes in the temple on Sunday. A large number of devotees participated in it. Everyone played Bhasma Holi with great enthusiasm and wished each other a happy Holi with the cheers of Bam Bhole.
Holi started in the entire district with the burning of ashes from Baba Kashi Vishwanath courtyard. On Sunday, the Mahant of the temple was the first to reach the temple courtyard. After that, Mahant Ajay Puri first took the blessings of Bholenath by applying ashes on the self-proclaimed Shivalinga. Then Holi was played by applying Bhabhut i.e. ashes on all the devotees. Devotees wished Holi by applying ashes to each other.
During this, songs of Holi and Basant were sung by Baba Kashi Vishwanath Mandali. After that Prasad was also distributed in the temple. Mahant Ajay Puri told that Uttarkashi is called Kashi of Kalyug. It is believed that in Kaliyuga, Kashi Vishwanath will reside at the foothills of Varunavat mountain between Assi Ganga and Varuna river.
