Gariaband. (25:03): “Holi is a festival where people of all ages, young and old, come together and immerse themselves in vibrant colors. It transcends differences as everyone celebrates together, especially in rural areas where traditional Raas dances to the beat of Mandar and Dholak are still cherished.”
On the night of Holi, villages observe the tradition of Holika Dahan, followed by rituals like walking on the embers. Later, Holi revelers roam around intersections, drumming and distributing rice and charity. After colorful celebrations, they bathe and prepare for the Raas dance, visiting every house in the village with music and dance that lasts till late night.
“Even today, the traditional customs and fervor of the Holi festival in rural areas continue to captivate the mind.”
