Government Land Conversion: FIR Against Nazul Officer and Others

Date:

Ambikapur. (14:03): In Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, an FIR has been lodged against the former Nazul officer, Reader, RI, and other individuals for falsely registering government land (Gochar land) as private property in official records. The case pertains to Ambikapur, and the former Nazul officer implicated in the land fraud is presently serving as Joint Collector in Kondgaon.

In this case involving the fraudulent transfer of approximately 4.22 acres of land, the police have filed charges under sections 420, 467, 468, and 471 against the former Nazul officer Neelam Toppo, Nazul office reader Ajay Tiwari, RI Narayan Singh, and Rahul Singh. The investigation has commenced based on the FIR, with the possibility of additional individuals being implicated in the fraud.

Kailash Mishra had lodged a complaint about this fraud with Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Collector Surguja on March 10. The complaint alleges that the accused, along with Revenue Department officials, Patwaris, and Revenue Inspectors, unlawfully sold 4.22 acres of land for over Rs 50 crore. The land, initially leased to villager Bansu Ram in 1977-78, was later registered as grazing land by the government. However, the accused colluded to re-register the valuable land in the name of Bansu Ram, who had since passed away. To execute the scheme, they identified Bansu Atmaj Bhatkul, a resident of Phundurdihari village, and fraudulently registered the land in his name. The involvement of the former Nazul officer Neelam Toppo, reader Ajay Tiwari, RI Narayan Singh, and Rahul Singh has been flagged as suspicious in this fraud.
