Sarangarh/Bilaigarh. (30:04): BUnder the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, on the scheduled voting date for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, every employee working in factories and establishments covered under the Factories Act, 1948, and Chhattisgarh Shops and Establishments Act, 1953, is entitled to a paid holiday by the state government. Voting will take place on May 7 in the parliamentary constituencies of Chhattisgarh state, including Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg, and Raipur.
Workers in first and second shifts at factories operating seven days a week will be granted 2 hours of leave on the day of voting.
The state government has announced a 2-hour holiday on the voting day for workers in the first and second shifts of factories operating seven days a week and those involved in continuous processes. Workers have been instructed to be given the opportunity to vote out of turn. Similarly, employees from neighboring states who work in private or public establishments, shops, industrial undertakings, or businesses in Chhattisgarh have also been granted a paid holiday on the polling day of their home state.
