Raipur. (15:03): Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Nodal Officer, Shri Abinash Mishra, conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the urban area. In a meeting with zone commissioners and assistant nodal officers, Shri Mishra emphasized the imminent enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct upon the Election Commission of India’s announcement of the election schedule. He instructed all departmental officers to ensure the prompt removal of any defacement of property across the district, including main roads, public places, and government premises like stadiums, community buildings, and libraries.
Shri Mishra emphasized the importance of promptly addressing property defacement, directing officials to file preliminary reports and remove defacements within stipulated timeframes. He cautioned officers that failure to address defacement could result in disciplinary action.
Additionally, Shri Mishra instructed officials to conduct physical verifications of designated polling stations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He mandated that after inspecting these centers, officials must ensure 100% provision of essential amenities such as electricity, water, toilets, furniture, mobile network coverage, and ramps for disabled individuals. These directives aim to facilitate transparent election processes at polling stations.
