Bhilai. (14:03): Late Wednesday night, a major fire erupted at Coal Chemical Plant 3 of Coco Owens, part of Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh. The plant deals with various gases used in iron production.
The fire, believed to be caused by intense heat, was brought under control after about 90 minutes of concerted effort. Reports indicate losses worth crores of rupees at Bhilai Steel Plant due to the incident, resulting in a halt in operations. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties. Notably, Coal Chemical Plant-3 at BSP was constructed just a few months ago.
