Mahasamund. (21:03): The police have cracked the murder case of a young man in Nandgaon village, within the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station. Surprisingly, the perpetrator turned out to be none other than the victim’s friend. The authorities have apprehended the accused, identified as Prem Jangde (24 years), who resides in Nandgaon. According to the police, Suresh Patel, a resident of Patelpara Ward No. 5 in Nandgaon, reported that his son, Poonam Patel, left work at Bhagwati Rice Mill Belsonda on March 18 around 5 pm but did not return home. Concerned, Suresh went out to search for his son the next morning, only to discover a crowd gathered near the dry pond. Upon closer inspection, he found the lifeless body of his son, indicating a brutal murder. Upon receiving the news, the police arrived, cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation.

In response to the incident, the police apprehended a suspect named Prem Jangde and interrogated him. During questioning, the accused confessed to the crime, revealing that a dispute arose between the two friends during a drinking session, resulting in a fatal altercation. Prem admitted to attacking his friend with a blade-like cutter, leading to his immediate demise. Subsequently, the police arrested the accused under Section 302 and remanded him to custody.
