Raipur. (09:05): Following the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, Raipur Police is conducting a special campaign against drug addiction under the Nijaat Abhiyan.
On May 7, 2024, information was received from an informant regarding a person, described as having short hair and a beard, wearing a pink and black full t-shirt and black pants, who was illegally in possession of ganja in a green-colored bag near the railway station parking number 07, under the jurisdiction of Gudhiyari police station. Acting on this information, the Gudhiyari police station in-charge, under the supervision of senior officers, verified the information and apprehended a person matching the description provided by the informant. The arrested individual identified himself as Budru Noornaka, father of Brindavan Noornaka, aged 32, residing at Sakin Sikvand Police Station Bismaktak District Raigarh Hall, in front of Muniguda Railway Station, Police Station Muniguda District Raigarh Odisha.
During the search, two bags in his possession were found to contain ganja. The accused, Brindavan Noornaka, was found in possession of 16.441 kilograms of ganja worth Rs. 2,60,000/-, cash amounting to Rs. 1000/-, and an old mobile phone worth Rs. 2,63,000/-. A case under Section 20B of the Narcotic Act was registered against him with crime number 370/2024, and necessary action was taken.
