Raigarh. (12:04): On April 12th in Raigarh, after extensive efforts, Jutmil police located a girl who had been missing for a month from the police station area. The accused youth, Sanjay Ogre (20 years old) from village Tarpali, who had been constantly changing his location along with the minor, was arrested by the police today.
The girl’s mother had filed a missing report on March 19th at the Jutmil police station, stating that her daughter had disappeared on March 13th from her maternal grandfather’s house in Raigarh. Despite thorough searching, she couldn’t be found. An FIR was lodged against unknown perpetrators at the Jutmil police station under section 363 IPC.
During the search, it was discovered that the missing girl had been in contact with the suspect, Sanjay Ogre, who had been moving frequently. The police station in-charge deployed an informant to keep track of the suspect’s movements. Acting on a tip that the girl was spotted with Sanjay Ogre in village Tarpali, Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj and his team immediately conducted a raid.
Both the girl and the suspect were apprehended during the raid. Upon questioning by a female police officer, the girl revealed that she was acquainted with Sanjay Ogre, who had picked her up on a motorcycle on March 13th. He had persuaded her to marry him and took her away, establishing physical relations with her.
Following the girl’s statement, additional charges under sections 366, 376 IPC, and sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act were added. Sanjay Ogre, son of Harishchandra Ogre, residing in Tarpali Ward No. 11, Chakradharnagar District Raigarh, has been remanded to judicial custody after his arrest. Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj, Assistant Sub Inspector Narendra Sidar, and their team played crucial roles in locating and apprehending both the girl and the accused.
