Ashish Verma and Mahesh Kurre have been apprehended for the theft of three motorcycles

The accused were found in possession of a total of three stolen two-wheelers. The combined value of the seized items is around Rs 80,000.

(23:03): In response to rising incidents of two-wheeler theft, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh has instructed all police officials in Raipur district, along with the anti-crime and cyber units, to intensify efforts to curb vehicle theft and apprehend the perpetrators.

On March 21, 2024, Rohit Barik reported to the Khamtarai police station that his brother’s scooter was stolen near Banjari Mata temple on March 18, 2024. The police initiated an investigation under crime number 250/24, Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code. Acting on information received on March 22, 2024, the Khamtarai police arrested two individuals who were reportedly seeking to sell a two-wheeler in the Ravanbhatha area. The arrested individuals were identified as Ashish Verma and Mahesh Kurre. Upon interrogation, Verma and Kurre confessed to the theft of three motorcycles. The seized vehicles include a CG-04-MN-1012 motorcycle valued at Rs. 20,000, a Bajaj Platina with registration number CG 11 CF 2508 valued at Rs. 20,000, and an HF Deluxe with registration number CG-28-L-2843 valued at Rs. 40,000. The total value of the seized motorcycles is approximately Rs. 80,000.
