Raigarh. (11:03): “The Raigarh Municipal Corporation held its first general body meeting in six months on Monday, marking the end of the city government’s tenure. During the meeting, councilors from both parties raised 23 questions, which were addressed by Mayor Janaki Katju and members of the Municipal Improvement Committee (MIC).
Subsequently, the House discussed and unanimously approved proposals on seven subjects. The meeting was adjourned until the following day after addressing two of the proposed subjects.
One of the proposals focused on leasing out 24 shops owned by the Municipal Corporation on Marine Drive. BJP councilors raised concerns about the delay in this matter, prompting a heated discussion. Ultimately, the proposal was passed, stipulating that the shops would be allotted to the first bidders. It was also agreed that if the first bidder declined, the shop would not be offered to the second bidder, and the tender process would be reopened.
Additionally, another proposal was passed to allocate Rs 51,000 for the annual Shorya Nritya Yadav Madai Mahotsav held at Ramlila Maidan.
The general body meeting was adjourned until the following day after these discussions.”
