(06:04): The Rajnandgaon Kotwali Police has filed a case under Section 506 regarding the remarks made by Assembly Opposition Leader Charan Das Mahant about Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the nomination meeting of former Chief Minister and Rajnandgaon Congress Lok Sabha candidate Bhupesh Baghel.

Rajnandgaon Kotwali Police has filed a case under Section 506 against Dr. Charan Das Mahant, a senior leader of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly. This action comes after Dr. Mahant made remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the nomination rally of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on April 2. Dr. Mahant’s statement, where he referenced hitting Modi with a stick, sparked controversy and led to a complaint to the Election Commission. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against Dr. Mahant for allegedly threatening to cause grievous harm or death. This development has intensified political tensions in the region.
