Sarangarh. (08:05): The village employment assistant at the headquarters of Gram Panchayat Rewapar is alleged to be fake. A written complaint has been filed by a villager outlining various grievances, including continuous employment at one place under the MNREGA scheme. The complaint has been forwarded to the District Collector, Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue), and Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat.
According to anonymous villagers, there are suspicions regarding the employment assistant’s appointment, particularly regarding the involvement of his niece who previously held the position. The current employment assistant, Gendaram, is also under scrutiny. A complaint letter submitted by Gramin Govinda to the DM/SDM/CEO office further raises concerns.
The complaint alleges irregularities in the execution of MNREGA projects, particularly regarding the renovation of Muda Talab in 2023-24 and subsequent work in 2024-25. The complainant questions the continuous benefits being availed from the scheme, which should be renewed every three years.
Furthermore, the complainant accuses Gram Panchayat officials of colluding with contractors to earn commissions from MNREGA projects. While the complaint letter suggests numerous discrepancies, further investigation is required to determine the accuracy of the allegations and the subsequent actions to be taken.
