Raipur. (23:03): Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr. Santosh Kumar Singh, has directed all police officers in Raipur to crack down on illegal possession and use of firearms ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and Holi festival.
Following this, on March 22, 2024, a joint operation by Purani Basti police station resulted in the arrest of Abhijeet Poddar alias Thokun Dada, who was found in possession of a pistol and live cartridges near Madhu Chowk in Ramnarayan Nagar. Poddar has been charged under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
