Raigarh. (22:03): Superintendent of Police Mr. Divyang Kumar Patel has instructed all police station in-charges to crack down on illegal liquor sales ahead of the upcoming Holi festival. Acting on this directive, Chakradharnagar Inspector Prashant Rao received a tip-off from an informant about illicit liquor sales near Balasamund pond on the evening of March 21st.

The police team promptly conducted a raid, causing some individuals to flee upon seeing them. They apprehended Vijay Dewangan, aged 21, who was found with two plastic jars and a 2-liter Pepsi containing a total of 12 liters of Mahua liquor valued at ₹1,200. Vijay Dewangan was charged under Section 34(2), 59(A) of the Excise Act at Chakradharnagar police station. The operation involved head constable Ravi Kishore Sai, constables Abhay Yadav and Chandra Kumar Banjare, as well as lady constable Anita Beck.
