A train safety seminar was held at the Multi-Function Complex/Durg station in the Raipur Railway Division of South East Central Railway

Raipur. (26:04): On April 25, 2024, the Safety Department of South East Central Railway’s Raipur Railway Division organized a safety seminar at the Multi-Function Complex/Durg Station. Employees from various departments including Operation, Electrical Operation, Mechanical, Signal and Telecommunication, and Engineering participated in the seminar to ensure safe train operations.

The seminar covered several key points, including precautions to avoid SPAD (Signal Passed at Danger) incidents and working of light engine/train in block ticket (T/A-602). Other topics discussed were precautions during shunting to prevent roll down of trains, fire prevention in trains, engines, and power packs, summer precautions for the Engineering Department, precautions during signal and point failures, causes and remedies of brake winding in coaching trains, analysis of recent accidents, and demonstrations on the use of first aid kits and fire extinguishers.

Mr. Praveen Kumar, Assistant Divisional Safety Officer/Raipur, Mr. RK Soni, Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer/Operations/Bhilai, Trinath Mohanty, Safety Consultant/Electrical, Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Safety Consultant/Engineering, Shankar Lal Patel, Safety Consultant/Signal & Telecommunication, and Bhupesh Sahu, Safety Consultant/Mechanical, played crucial roles in the seminar.

The Safety Organization/Raipur Division organizes two safety seminars every month in different stations of the division to raise awareness among employees about safety protocols while working. A total of 83 people, including safety consultants, supervisors, and field employees, participated in the seminar.
