(11:04): Under the direction of Collector and District Election Officer Karthikeya Goyal, Additional Collector and Deputy District Election Officer Rajiv Kumar Pandey conducted a meeting at the Collectorate meeting room to provide essential information about the nomination process for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
Emphasizing the significance of nominations, Additional Collector Pandey highlighted the need for vigilance throughout the process, which extends beyond mere submission to include preliminary investigation and documentation. Candidates will receive Form 2-A and Form 26 (Schedule 12), requiring an affidavit. Nomination requires a proposal from at least one elector of the constituency for recognized political parties, while 10 electors’ proposals are needed for unrecognized parties and independents. Only the candidate or their proposer(s) can submit nomination papers.
Manish Pandey, Innocent Kujur, Tandon, SDM Raigarh Praveen Tiwari, Deputy Collector Shashikant Kurre, Jagjivan Ram Jangde, District Master Trainer Rajesh Daniel, and other election-related officers were present.
Nomination filing starts on April 12th, with the deadline on April 19th. Scrutiny is on April 20th, and withdrawal is allowed until April 22nd. Voting takes place on May 7th, with counting on June 4th.
